We summarize the breakthrough year of 2021, which turned out to be a record year for us, both in terms of results and increase in number of customers. Total income in that period amounted to PLN 179 million, which means a 53 percent increase year-on-year. In turn, the gross margin increased by 52 percent and noted a value of PLN 54 million. The number of customers also went up to 64 percent year-on-year, exceeding 18 thousand. Both the dynamic organic growth and the acquisition of FreshMail and PushPushGo account for these record results.
– In many ways, the past year was a breakthrough for us. Once again, we managed to achieve excellent financial results and significantly increase the number of clients. At the same time we strongly expanded our product competences and range of services, which reflects our ambitions and constant need for development – says Krzysztof Szyszka, Co-founder&CEO at Vercom.
Last year continued the dynamic growth of the business scale. Revenues has increased year-on-year by 53 percent to PLN 179 million. The gross margin increased similarly, reaching PLN 54 million. Such dynamic growth is a result of gaining new customers (+7,300), as well as increasing sales comparing to existing ones. Noteworthy is also the fact that the increase in profitability is an effect of improvement in the product mix due to growing interest in CPaaS services.
– One of the trends we observed in the past year was the growing interest in CPaaS services. In earlier years, our cooperation with customers began with a single channel, which was later gradually expanded with new ones. Now, on the other hand, we observe a lot of implementations within CPaaS, which include several communication channels at once. We are pleased with this trend, as it demonstrates the growing awareness and the need for effective customer communication – adds Krzysztof Szyszka.
One of the key events in 2021 was the acquisition of FreshMail – the leader of the Polish e-mail marketing market, which made it possible to reach a wide range of new customers with a high sales potential in SMS, push and OTT channels. Also, the company has invested in PushPushGo – a leader in the Polish web push communication market. The transaction allowed Vercom to expand its services with a new, attractive communication channel.
– Due to completed transactions, we have dramatically increased the number of single-channel customers, among whom we see great potential for scaling CPaaS services. We are already seeing strong interest in using multi-channel communications. Obviously, this is a very attractive basis for us to increase the scale of business in the future – comments Tomasz Pakulski, Member of the Management Board at Vercom.
Worth noting is the growing diversification of business. Over the past year, the increasing interest in CPaaS services from entities representing such sectors as Publishing, FMCG, Utilities and FinTech, i.a. allowed the company to reach new industries and new customer groups. This results in scaling the business with even better operational stability. Geographical diversification is also progressing. In 2021, international sales accounted for 31 percent, an increase of 24 percent compared to last year.
– Despite the record-breaking year, we are not planning to slow down. We have great ambitions related to the global expansion and further development of the company, both through the continuation of organic growth and selective acquisitions. We plan to consistently scale, not limiting ourselves to the CEE region, we look at the market globally – says Krzysztof Szyszka.
The year 2021 was followed by a debut on the Warsaw Stock Exchange preceded by a public offering in which the company raised PLN 180 million. On March 18th Vercom shares were included in the sWIG80 index. This proves that along with business development, the company is also strengthening its position on the Capital Market, allowing for an optimistic outlook for the coming years of operation.
